In the open beta this week we changed/improved the functionality to conduct multiple attacks using the JDAM and JSOW. You can now set targeting for each weapon and assign the weapons to a single mission (MSN) if you wish. This allows you to attack multiple targets without having to change Pre-Planned missions. This video is a quick instruction of how to do this. Thanks

PLANNED FOR 27 MARCH 2019 1- Update to IFF and D/L identification system 2- LTWS 3- JDAM Next week we plan (not promise) a new Hornet Open Beta update that includes changes to the IFF/datalink identification system and introduction to Latent Track While Scan (LTWS) and the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). JDAM in particularly is still very much work in progress with large elements to still add. This video is provided to provide you an initial understanding of these systems. Please also note that the A/A radar is an iterative process from which LTWS will be built upon to create the Track While Scan (TWS) mode and the Azimuth / Elevation (AZ/EL) modes. Once the AZ/EL page is created, then the various automatic IFF modes will be implemented. Before you ask… the targeting pod will come after the HARM is complete. Thanks, and have fun!

This is a tutorial on how to use the newest weapons in the DCS: F/A-18C's repertoire, Joint Direct Attack Munitions or JDAM's. This tutorial will compare and contrast JDAM's with LGB's and explain the best practices when employing JDAM's and the types of targets most suited to attack with JDAM's. Do note that there is some intensive information input required by the pilot in order to use JDAM's and thus is susceptible to human error leading to the bomb not hitting the intended coordinates and causing major collateral damage or even blue on blue incidents. Double and triple checking of target coordinates, altitudes and terminal guidance settings is a must. I seriously recommend flying with a notepad and writing implement handy, and especially with JDAM's onboard the aircraft. THIS IS REGARDING THE NEXT OPEN BETA that will feature the AGM-154A JSOW, Multi-Sensor Integration (MSI) for Latent Track While Scan (LTWS) mode, and an explanation of HSI PRECISE coordinate entry that is currently available. Other Hornet items in work include the Litening targeting pod, Harpoon anti-ship mode, INS and GPS full simulation and alignment, dynamic launch zones for JDAM and JSOW, and initial work on the air-to-ground radar. This is an introduction video regarding use of the AGM-154C JSOW for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet. The AGM-154C is planned to be included in the next Open Beta release. The AGM-154C is an INS/GPS-guided air-to-surface glide bomb with a BROACH penetrator warhead. It allows excellent standoff range with a powerful and accurately delivered warhead designed to defeat hardened targets.
